Joel Kelso to remain with GRYD Racing in 2027
The Australian rider will once again share the garage with British team-mate Eddie O’Shea.
GRYD Racing is pleased to confirm that Joel Kelso will remain with the team for the 2027 season, continuing a partnership agreed on a two-year deal last year. The Australian will therefore stay with the team for a second consecutive year as he looks to build on the progress made throughout the current campaign.
Since joining GRYD Racing, Kelso has made good progress, securing five front-row starts this season, with the latest coming at Phillip Island on Saturday. His best race result to date came at Silverstone, where he finished sixth, highlighting the improvements made since the start of the year.
“I’m really happy to continue with GRYD Racing. In our first year with Honda, we’ve learnt a lot, and I feel that we’re making big steps forward. I think it’s going to be great to continue with the team for a second year in the World Championship for the first time in my career.
GRYD Racing are like family to me now, and I’m looking forward to learning from everything we’ve done this year with the Honda and carrying that experience into next year. Overall, I’m really excited, and I can’t wait to continue this journey with them. ”
“Retaining Kelso for 2027 reflects GRYD Racing’s confidence in the Australian and its commitment to building on the foundations established this year.
With continuity across the garage, the team aims to maintain its upward trajectory and provide Kelso with the platform to continue progressing in the World Championship. ”
The announcement comes at a special time for Kelso, who will race on home soil this weekend at the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island. To mark the occasion, Kelso’s bike will feature a special livery, alongside matching designs on his leathers and helmet, paying tribute to his home country and its passionate fans.
