From Oulton Park to Donington Park: the team ready for round two
Following a successful opening round of the season at Oulton Park two weeks ago, our teams now turn their attention to round two of the championship this weekend at Donington Park.
Lewis Rollo and Simon Reid made their debut with the team’s BMW machinery in the Superstock category and both showed promising pace throughout the weekend. Rollo ended the opening round on the podium with an impressive third-place finish. Reid, meanwhile, fought his way through the field from further back on the grid to cross the line in 18th position.

“What a weekend to start the season. Finishing the first day in P2 was a really positive start for us. We made a few changes during qualifying and I was happy to come away with fourth on the grid. In the first race of the season, I got a strong start and settled into P2 for a few laps before Moreseley got past me and I dropped back to P3. Even then, I felt really comfortable and my pace was strong throughout the race. I set my fastest lap on lap ten, which showed we had really good race pace.
Unfortunately, the race was red-flagged, but to come away with a podium in the opening round and my first podium of the season was an amazing feeling, especially compared to where we were last year. The team worked brilliantly all weekend and we made great progress together. Big thanks to all the guys and all of the sponsors for making this possible. Hopefully we can carry this momentum into Donington next weekend.”
“Returning to BSB was always going to be a challenge, and being ill throughout the weekend made things even tougher, but the biggest positive was the pace we showed across the sessions. We proved that when everything comes together, we have the potential to be where we belong. I’m really enjoying being back in the paddock, the team and the bike have been brilliant, and I know we’ll continue getting stronger together.”

Two other riders making their debut with the team were Harley McCabe and Daniel Goodman in the Sportbike category, both enjoying a positive first outing at Oulton Park.
McCabe secured two podium finishes with a pair of third-place results across the weekend, while Goodman claimed a top 12 finish in race one and a top 18 result in race two.

“The weekend was really positive. I got off to a good start and was putting together consistent laps at a strong pace. In qualifying we managed to secure P4 on the grid, which gave us confidence heading into the races. I knew the races would be tough, but I also knew I had the pace to fight at the front. After a small mistake dropped me down the order in race one, I kept my head down and managed to recover to P3. Race two was even more enjoyable with a great battle at the front, leading laps and fighting hard with the other front runners.”

“It’s been a really positive first weekend on the Aprilia 660. From the very first session I felt comfortable on the bike and was able to build confidence step by step. The team did a fantastic job helping me understand the bike better and we made solid progress every time we went out on track. Overall, it’s been a strong start to the season with good pace and a lot of confidence to take forward. I’m really happy with how everything came together and I’m looking forward to continuing that progress at Donington.”
In the British Moto4 class, the team’s young riders also head into the second round of the season full of confidence after a strong start at Oulton Park.

We had an amazing weekend at Oulton Park, taking two wins and a third place to leave as championship leader, as well as setting a new lap record. The bike felt amazing from start to finish all weekend and we’re really excited to get going again for round two at Donington.
Ryan Frost was one of the standout performers of the weekend, claiming a podium in race one before securing back-to-back victories in races two and three. The #24 now leads the championship standings with 66 points.
Thorley Trevorrow secured a top 10 finish in race one and an 11th place result in race two, but unfortunately crashed out of the final race of the weekend.
“I had a really positive weekend with the team, finishing P10 and P11. Unfortunately the final race didn’t go to plan, but we have to focus on the positives. I can’t wait for Donington Park and a big thanks to my mechanic and the whole team for a great weekend.”
Aeziah Divine started the weekend with a DNF but bounced back strongly with a top 10 finish in race two before narrowly missing out on the podium in race three with fourth position.
“I’ve had an awesome weekend at Oulton Park for round one and I’m super happy with how everything went. I achieved my goal of breaking into the top 10 and came away with a P10 and a P4 over the weekend, so I’m really pleased with the progress we made.”
Tyler Humphries continued adapting to the bike throughout the weekend, securing two top 12 finishes in races one and two before unfortunately marking a DNF on the final race.
“The weekend went well overall. It took some time to get used to the bike and the track, so it was a challenging weekend at times. We still managed some decent results alongside the DNF, and overall it was a really enjoyable weekend with plenty of positives to build on.”
Álex Remesal also used the opening weekend of the season to continue adapting to the bike. He ran consistently inside the top 11 during race one before finishing 14th in race two. Unfortunately, like Humphries and Trevorrow, he was unable to finish the final race of the weekend.
“It was quite a difficult weekend and not the start to the season we had hoped for, but it will help us grow as riders and as a team. We have to take the positives and the lessons learned from weekends like this and use them throughout the rest of the season. Now our full focus is on Donington.”
Finally, Lucy Curtis narrowly missed out on qualifying for the races and will be looking for another opportunity to make progress this weekend at Donington Park.
“I’m extremely happy with how the weekend went at Oulton Park. To come away with podium finishes across all three classes was a fantastic way to start the season. We have riders capable of making this a regular occurrence throughout the year. There are still a few areas we would like to improve on as a team, but the pace is definitely there and that gives us a lot of confidence heading into Donington.”
Following this encouraging first round of the season, the team now heads to Donington Park determined to continue improving and building momentum across all three categories.
