Aragón: Race report
The Junior team was back in action at MotorLand Aragón, Spain, this weekend for the penultimate round of the season, with Kristian Daniel Jr. securing two top 10 finishes, while Ethan Sparks finished P19 and Johnny Garness P24.
The opening Moto3 race of the day produced mixed results for the team. Starting from 15th on the grid, Kristian Daniel Jr. recovered strongly after losing ground at the start. The American rider worked his way back through the field to finish ninth, heading the third group across the line.
Unfortunately, Johnny Garness was unable to finish the race after a technical issue brought his race to an early end.
Both riders made it to the finish in the second Moto3 race. Kristian Daniel Jr. was making progress towards the group ahead when he was involved in an incident with another rider, costing him several positions with just a few laps remaining. He eventually finished tenth.
Garness spent the race battling in the final group and crossed the line in 24th place.
In Moto4, Ethan Sparks started from 18th and finished 19th. The British rider made a strong start to the race and initially challenged for a top 10 finish, but was unable to maintain the pace as the race progressed, eventually finishing four places outside the points.
The team now leaves Aragón with its focus firmly on the final round of the season, which will take place at Misano in Italy in three week’s time.
